Back on the Wired beat at last, with a heads-up on Marvel Comics’ cool new series soaked in noir. Who’s firing first? The mutants, of course.
X-Men Noir Goes Dark, Sells Out
The darker, more violent world of the new Marvel Noir series has made an auspicious debut: Its first iteration, X-Men Noir No. 1, has sold out and is heading back to press for a second printing with a variant cover.
Written by Fred Van Lente and inked by Dennis Calero, the comic portrays its mutant all-stars as pissed-off vigilantes uninterested in taking prisoners, as the panels above illustrate most self-righteously. The second printing will use Calero’s interior art on the new cover, according to Marvel Comics.
