R.I.P. Listening Post (For Now)

Well, the economy did not leave my life unscathed, although I have worked hard to keep it that way. Wired decided to shutter its music blog Listening Post, which I had been contributing to since early 2008, along with its awesome founder Eliot Van Buskirk. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that Wired has just moved us both to other blogs that are absorbing music into their digital embrace. Eliot will be tackling music technology for the biz blog Epicenter, while I will be covering music culture and product over at Underwire, where I am already tackling film, comix and other entertainment. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

The better news is that Wired might reboot the blog once the economic clusterfuck is resolved — if it ever is. (I’d ask Jim Kunstler about that one.) But I’d still like to thank Wired for paying me to deliver the goods your way on the regular, and giving me to space to think and speak freely about what matters in music, film and more. And I’d also like to thank my parents, for bringing me into the world. I’d also like to thank my agent…

Wait, I don’t have an agent. Well, there’s always 2009.
