Crappy Music, Not Iran, Is Our Enemy

Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran? What the hell for? Because it makes awesome space rock?

Seriously, what has this band ever done to us? Other than turn out one of the more interesting musical releases of the year so far in Dissolver? I mean, really. Read my Metromix review and tell me you don’t agree. I dare ya!

Iran
Dissolver

[Scott Thill, Metromix]
San Francisco singer-songwriter Aaron Aites released a couple of recordings as Iran, including 2003’s clever “The Moon Boys,” before teaming with TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone and David Sitek to produce this addictive dose of space-pop. Those first releases were crafted mostly in his apartment; this time around, he entered a studio and had Sitek produce this ambitious, cerebral effort. Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful relationship. MORE @ METROMIX
